Enviu - innovators in sustainability - is an international network organisation for and by young entrepreneurial people. Enviu scouts and generates ideas regarding innovative sustainable entrepreneurship. These ideas are developed as profitable and sustainable solutions for environmental and social issues. 

Enviu has an international network of young entrepreneurs, creatives, young professionals and students and offers an inspiring work- and study environment, where we generate and scout ideas and share our networks, expertise and time to make them happen.

 

Target group

Young entrepreneurial people: students, young professionals, creatives and start-up entrepreneurs, between the age of 21 and 35, primarily with a business or economic background.

 

Core words:

Entrepreneurial, innovative, sharing knowledge and expertise, young people, network, trendy and businesslike.

§         Ideas scouting and generation

§         Development of ideas of young entrepreneurial people into a bankable business plan

§         Physical space: an innovative place where sustainable entrepreneurs can work to realise their dream! Here you will meet and interact with other issue driven entrepreneurs and get inspired by the Enviu community. The physical incubation centre offers monthly memberships, where you pay by the minute, just like your mobile phone membership.

The Sustainable Dance Club (www.sustainabledanceclub.com), the Hybrid Tuk Tuk Battle, Sustainable International Enterprising in Higher Education, International Sustainable Enterprising at Colleges, Innovation Lab, Physical Incubation centre and facilitation of Sustainable Tourism Network in Southern Chile.

 

Facts:

§         Start February 2004 in the Netherlands; With a strategic partner in Chile;

§         Approximately 200 volunteers active and 8 employees (some part-time);

§         Board (5), Scientific Advisory Board (4), Expert Group (8);

§         Public financing 2007: e.g. Ministry of VROM, NCDO, OBR and SBAW;

§         Private income in 2007: e.g. Natuurmonumenten, KICI, MyTown, Havenbedrijf Rotterdam, d.o.b. Foundation;

§         Partnerships and cooperation with more than 30 universities and colleges;

§         Cooperation with organisations such as: FacilityForce, Architect bureau Döll, KICI, Kennedy van der Laan, Kaos Pilots, Alice O, Duurzame stagebank;

§         Networks: Young Economic Development Board Rotterdam, Social Venture Network, Laluz Foundation, Amorion, Yente - Female entrepreneurship, and Enviu is a member of DHO (Sustainability in Higher Education).

§         In October 2006 Enviu featured in an article of the Dutch National Geographic and in 2007 our activities were featured in many national and international media.

§         Enviu’s initiative of the Sustainable Dance Club project was awarded as being one of the world’s most innovative idea of 2006/2007 that contribute to a sustainable world by Toyota, Springwise and Fast Company (spin off of Harvard Business Review).
