1. Pre-start Enviu Innovation Lab

True to our tagline - innovators in sustainability – Enviu is currently busy developing an exciting new project which we hope will have massive effects. Combining technology, business and creativity and the drive of thousands of young entrepreneurial people around the world all working on innovative solutions to environmental and social issues, while pushing the boundaries of possibility so far that they are a mere memory….. Welcome to the Enviu Innovation LAB!

Having fun, doing the impossible!

The goal of the Enviu Innovation LAB is to inspire thousands of young people to develop innovative solutions for environmental and social issues. All projects will create value for people and planet. The Sustainable Dance Club, the Hybrid Tuk Tuk and many other business start-ups in the field of sustainable lifestyle will get space to explore new business innovations. Our aim is that around 100 students and young entrepreneurial people will be working together here each year scouting and generating many ideas, researching their feasibility and building test models. In this way the best (WOW!) ideas will be investigated thoroughly and will hopefully result in a handful of new innovations and sustainable business start-ups each year.

The Innovation LAB is still in pre-start phase but things are moving quickly. We are currently in the process of building partnerships with a number of companies and educational and financial institutions to maximize the LAB’s reach and potential and are delighted to confirm that Rabobank, Hogeschool Rotterdam and the Port of Rotterdam have all agreed to come on board with us in this venture.

Location: RDM Campus, Rotterdam

On the terrain of the Rotterdamse Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM), in the middle of the Rotterdam City Harbour, RDM Campus is being born. Under the motto Research, Design and Manufacturing the terrain is being developed as a unique location and incubator for the creative and innovative production industry.

As part of RDM Campus the former machine hall, covering 23,000m2, is being transformed into the RDM Innovation Dock. From 2008 technical studies from the Hogeschool Rotterdam and the Albeda College will find a home in this monumental hall. Another 12,000m2 will be available for businesses and organizations who want to enter into a knowledge relationship with the education institutions. The massive hall and also the space outside provide the ideal space for experimentation and interaction. It is here that the Enviu Innovation LAB will find its home.
