4.    Internships and Thesis positions available!

 

Are you looking for an internship or thesis assignment? Or do you know someone who is? Spread the word! We have formulated many new positions again starting in 2008. The positions give a good impression what we are looking for, but there is always room for discussion and open applications are welcome in the fields of communication/ marketing, business/ economics, research, (industrial) product design.

Communication/ Marketing:
§        
Communication team Hybrid Tuk Tuk project (3 students): Development and execution of a communication plan for one of our new projects, the Hybrid Tuk Tuk. Executing of different promotional activities to reach thousands of people in the Netherlands and abroad. Main target group will be students at technical universities. The communication team will also be responsible for press contacts, writing updates for the website and realising other necessary communication materials.
§         Communication intern Sustainable Dance Club: First contact for information and press requests. Support the project manager and director of the Sustainable Dance Club with all forthcoming communication tasks.
§         Communication & PR: responsible for coordinating the PR volunteer team and executing PR activities, as writing articles/ texts for website, press releases, brochures, magazines/ newspapers. Contact with press, identify interesting press moments, think a long with the PR strategy.
§         New media marketing/ communication plan: Develop and execute a new media marketing/ communication plan for Enviu. For example: develop a plan for effective use of on-line communities for the expansion of our network.

Project management/ Event management/ Business/ Economics
§         Promotion/ Community intern: Assist the community manager in different activities, as promotion on (student) information markets, coordinate the Enviu Promo Team, give presentations, help expanding students network, product development student associations. Possibility to help develop also strategy plans as specific assignment. 
§
       Event management intern: Responsible for organisation of Enviu events (as creative sessions, matching events new volunteers, Enviu Drinks, etc.) and 1 larger seminar event (> 100 participants) and/ or possibility to write a strategy plan for events in 2008.
§        
Events & project assistants Hybrid Tuk Tuk project (2 students): Organisation of Tuk Tuk Battle (similar to the Solar Challenge where the TU Delft participates in). In this battle teams of Dutch (and later in the year Indian) students from technical universities will compete to develop the best 'kit' to make Tuk Tuks more sustainable. To reach these students different events will be organised, like the official kick-off of the project and several promotional events that will attract attention of the press.
§         Market research sustainable innovation for clubs: execute a market research related to setting up a Sustainable Dance Club: find and analyse information about technologies and existing implementations to reduce energy and water use and waste; information about biological food and drinks; programming (dj’s, vj’s, artists), construction, design, furniture, lighting; information about human powered systems; transport, use of PR via SMS and internet etc.

Cradle to Cradle internships:

§        
Cradle to Cradle - best practices: Investigate companies that have (un)successfully applied for C2C-certification, analyse the processes that lead to this certification, and derive potential success factors and other points of attention.
§        
Cradle to Cradle - implementation plan: Compose a tool that companies can use to make a first assessment regarding their C2C-certification eligibility and design generic approach which steps need to be taken how to achieve this.

ICT/ Website development:
§        
Online Community Small Investors website: Develop a website (based on previous thesis research) for small investors to make it possible to invest online in innovative, sustainable ideas and projects. (description coming soon)
§       
Build a website/ toolbox for the Sustainable Dance Club: Develop the online Sustainable Dance Club Toolbox, which will be interesting for suppliers, investors, dance club owners and party/ festival organisers. The Online Toolbox will be a medium where information can be shared and found about sustainable solutions for issues within the dance club scene.
§        Design and development of a Virtual Sustainable Dance Club: You will develop a virtual version of the Sustainable Dance Club, not at Second Life, but an own website/ platform. This will be used for interaction with the clubbers, for digital 'party's', as life events, as promotion of the concept and to present and test new products online.

Theses assignments:
We currently have three main research themes: Sustainable business development, Civil Society of the future and Governance and sustainability. In 2008 we will pay also special attention to Cradle to Cradle assignments, and we have various project-specific opportunities. Please take a look at our website for concrete possibilities. For the Tuk Tuk project we have the following research possibilities:
