2. Hybrid Tuktuk news and Stef's trip to India

Tuktuk news
The Tuktuk team is working hard to develop the project further. While Stef was arranging everything in India, in the Netherlands also a lot has happened:

-    The Tuktuk team has grown with many new student members. The Tuktuk promotion team now includes: Elmar, Alexandra, Edgar, Nejet, Ismahan and Ellen who have as task to promote the Battle in the Netherlands and help with the organisation and communication. Two, from origin, Indian, students, Amandeep and Harinder just started working on their thesis: a business plan for bringing the tuktuk upgrade kit to the market. And Floris will start soon to make sure the communication between the Dutch and the Indian Battle will run smoothly. Parvez (also Indian) will go for a short visit to Calcutta in order to do research on the tuktuk market and he will focus on mechanics.

-    Tuktuk has just launched it’s own website: www.hybridtuktuk.com, with many thanks to Taeke & Michiel for the development. Check it out for events, updates, more info on the Battle, and later on, the teams will keep their own blogs here as well.

-     The promotion of the Hybrid Tuktuk Battle just started! The promotion team will visit all the technical and business universities and HBOs, in the coming weeks. If you want to help them spread the word, just let us know!

-    Eindhoven is the first official participant of the Tuktuk battle competition, and will be forming student battle teams to participate. That’s one, still 5 to go!

-     Our own Enviu Tuktuk arrived in Rotterdam! Check out the video of its arrival yourself:

-     While Enviu director Stef was in India, Hilda joined him to research the CDM (Clean development mechanism) market. By means of a CDM project, developed countries can achieve part of their target to reduce CO2-emissions (Kyoto Protocol) by investing in projects abroad.

-    The 25th of February Tuktuk is organizing a new volunteer meeting, but also non volunteers are welcome to join! Please send an email to: elmar@enviu.org if you are interested to participate.

-    The upcoming Enviu Day on the 23rd of February will be in the light of the Hybrid Tuktuk project too; check out the invitation or website! It promises to be an inspiring and fun day.

Besides these developments, we are still looking for:

-     Technical students and professionals to increase our technical knowledge of tuktuks and answer questions of the battle teams

-     Sponsors to fund tuktuks, events and the business development

-     Student to study microfinance opportunities for tuktuk drivers

-     Students (anthropology) to analyse stakeholders in India and give advice regarding potential partners
