1. Opening new Enviu office

 

Friday 7 September saw the start of something BIG! In the early evening visitors started arriving at 100 Pannekoekstraat, Rotterdam for the opening of the new Enviu office.

    2. Storming on The Water II

On Saturday 15 September a group of Enviu-ers from different backgrounds met in the beautiful Natuurmonumenten area of Nieuwekoopse Plassen for the latest Enviu Day. The assignment: To brainstorm and generate more innovative ideas on how to make the nature reserve attractive for younger visitors (21-35 years) and what products and services to develop for the new visitor’s centre.

    3. One millions Tuk Tuks, let's make'm hybrid!

Enviu would like to introduce you to one of our exciting new projects, The Hybrid Tuk Tuk. Millions of tuk tuks pollute the air in large cities in Asia and Africa and produce large amounts of CO2. The drivers of these rickshaws constitute mainly the poorer groups in society who earn around one or two dollars per day.

    4. Sustainable Dance Club chosen as finalist for the Picnic Green Challenge

The Sustainable Dance Club was recently chosen from over 400 entries from 50 different countries as one of the five finalists in the PICNIC Green Challenge.

5. The bridge between students and business in development

This (school) year Enviu has started to participate in a new project, which is called ‘International Sustainable Enterprising’ (in Dutch: Duurzaam Internationaal Ondernemen, DIO). In this project students from Institutes of Higher Professional Education throughout the Netherlands are working on themes such as sustainability, enterprise in developing countries, micro credit, ‘Bottom of the Pyramid’ strategies, and much more.
