Friday 7 September saw the start of something BIG!

In the early evening visitors started arriving at Pannekoekstraat 100, Rotterdam for the opening of the new Enviu office.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Stef and the Enviu team.  As the place filled up, an exciting mix of entrepreneurs, young professionals, family, volunteers and new faces chatted around the bar and enjoyed the exotic, 100% biological buffet. Creativity began to bubble around the room as DJ Rednas Audio got the party started with his fresh and funky beats and artist Lucky Dubz set to work creating a wall mural right before our eyes.

Stef kicked off the celebrations by presenting us with Enviu’s concept of a WOW idea; an idea which can change the world. He explained that WOW ideas are innovative, feasible, offer solutions to environmental or social problems and are also likely to make you some money! The Sustainable Incubator is a place where young entrepreneurs and sustainable innovators can create their own WOW ideas and receive the support they need to realize these ideas and bring their dreams to life.

To a hearty round of applause Stef handed the floor over to the Young Mayor of Rotterdam, Andrea Moreira Santos.

She told the crowd how excited she was about the Sustainable Incubator and the benefits she saw for young people.

“It combines great ideas, sustainability and earning money. Not many people dare to make this combination. People here are taking the opportunity to solve problems while also making a living. This can help give young people today, and also future generations, a better quality of life.”

To stimulate the brain cells, in the comfy lounge area, Enviu’ers Bruno, Bea, Davina and Gaston gave short presentations about their work and research at Enviu, covering topics such as: sustainable management of NGOs, a sustainable bar for the Dance Club concept and sustainable raincoats.of Wheather or Not. Martin Cadée from Kaos Pilots also introduced their new school for entrepreneurial young adults who want to make a positive difference in the world.

Spirits were high as the celebrations came to a close. And so they should be because this is only the beginning. We hope it will also be the start of something big for many young entrepreneurs out there. See you soon at the Sustainable Incubator!
