About the Role
We are looking for a Sales Manager to expand our customer base and increase market share.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience managing the operations of a Sales Team while taking accountability for reaching targets.
You should also be able to supervise a team of salespeople and set profitable goals. Our ideal candidates combine excellent communication skills with a strategic mindset.
Ultimately, you will ensure your area of responsibility meets and exceeds the expectations of our business objectives and contributes to our company’s success in the long run.
Selling and promoting a line of products related to food.
Determine periodical (Annual, Monthly, Quarterly, Weekly, Daily ) unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results
Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing Periodical (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, annual( sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
Implement corporate sales programs by developing field sales action plans.
Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
Complete sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintain sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Create sales plans in alignment with business objectives.
Support Team with day-to-day operations.
Evaluate individual performances.
Report on sales results.
Identify hiring needs, select and train new salespeople.
Prepare and review the Periodical (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, annual( budget for the area of responsibility.
Analyze market trends and discover new opportunities for growth.
Address potential problems and suggest prompt solutions
Participate in decisions for expansion or acquisition.
Suggest new services/products and innovative sales techniques to increase customer satisfaction.
Qualities and Education Requirements.
5 to 10 years background of Business Development, Technical skills in an FMCD/FMCG industry.
Should have knowledge with Kenyan Hospitality Industry business (Food and Beverages)
Proven work experience as a Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Area Manager or similar sales role
Ability to measure and analyze key performance indicators (ROI and KPIs)
Familiarity with CRM software and Ms. Excel
Understanding of Sales operations
Ability to lead and motivate a high-performance sales team
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude
Flexibility to work in a startup.
Required education: Preferably graduate education or a strong sales experience in FMCG.
Required relevant work experience: 5-10 years
